If you and I as practitioners are going to make a real impact on education in this lifetime, we must use the most effective tools and share these processes. Getting others involved and expanding our reach is the FASTEST way to get these resources out into communities everywhere. To get there as quickly as possible, practitioners need these things:

1. Programs that work quickly (so practitioners can actually deliver what they promise).
2. The right programming for any student who falls within our field of expertise (not a one size fits all).
3. Programs that are EASY to implement, EASY to train, and EASY to monitor (no one is looking for MORE work in our harried lives).
4. Programs that can even be delivered by anyone in your staff - EVEN THE LEAST EXPERIENCED clinician you have - (having everyone on your staff up-to-speed creates more income and free time for you).
5. No restrictions as to business size, location, or movement (your growth and reputation shouldn't be limited).
6. Reasonable licensing fees (breaking your bank over these fees only lessens our power as practitioners for change).
7. Regular, ongoing suppor t both with program implementation as well as business concerns (even Tiger Woods has a coach).

Educators Must Also Embrace the
'Business Side' of the Equation

At the same time practitioners must want to not only help students, but also want to build a real business . It's nearly impossible to help others without helping yourself first. Educators have to be willing to invest time and money into both training and building that business. The most successful of our industry (whether large or small) will be looking to bring in at least 100 client hours per week as quickly as possible. That combination is a recipe for success.

We have assembled a continuum overview, and programs to build learning skills for any student. Some of those programs have been developed by other people. When we didn't have access to programs, we have developed our own. Or in some cases we have sequenced and simplified techniques so that the whole process is much easier to plan and deliver. Everything that we teach has been used in our clinic and tested in other clinics.

Here Is What You're In Store For...

There are four, one-week trainings. The first training is specially targeted to get you up and working with students as fast as possible. It will allow you to work with any student because it covers all the levels of the learning skills continuum.

Remember, these trainings are designed for people who have never had any of these programs but that doesn't mean they waste anyone's time to review them. These programs are incredibly powerful and deep , especially when used together in the right formula.

1. Samonas Sound Therapy -
   Jill will spend much of day one teaching "Samonas Basics." Many of you already have trained in this technique. However, one of the things we know from CD sales is how few educators really understand how to use Samonas to their fullest capacity. Just like you can't learn to fly a jet in a sitting or two, Samonas are deeply layered. The more you're exposed to this therapy, the better.
   
   Samonas is also "woven" throughout the rest of the week, because it is a powerful and versatile tool. You will get protocols already written for specific programs, conditions, and skill development. These protocols will save you hours of learning curve time so you can get the most out of it right away. (If you're already using it, you'll be amazed at how more effective your sessions become.)
   
2. Core Learning Skills (20 week program) -
   Core Learning Skills training involves a series of exercises that are done daily to help make neurological connections in the brain that are critical to comfortable learning and functioning.
   
   These are connections that should have occurred early in development but did not fully develop. Infants have reflex movement patterns that are critical to their survival, but which disappear in infancy or early childhood as the brain becomes more organized and higher levels of brain take over. Retention of any of these early reflexes can cause immature movement patterns and generalized learning difficulties . With stimulation, these reflexes can be integrated and higher level organization and neural connections can be made.
   
   In Core Learning Skills Training, the aim is not to get the movement right. We are not training a set of "normal" movements into the child. We are using movements to develop learning.
   
   Learning involves thinking, comparing, evaluating, planning, visualizing, adjusting, and ultimately finding the most effective ways to do things. We are not interested in training in a "splinter" skill that a student can execute but not apply. We are looking to build mental flexibility.
   
   Children with learning and attention challenges are often very inflexible. They are disrupted by any change in routine. They have only one way of doing things because they do not have the physical and mental flexibility to feel secure trying something in a different way.
   
   The mental flexibility and adaptability needed for ease in learning, social relationships, and general functioning begins at the core learning skills level.
   
   Core Learning Skills Training consists of 14 Core Skill Areas , each of which has a number of different, sequential activities designed to integrate reflexes, build body awareness and control, increase attention and concentration, and develop visual skills and internal organization needed for learning.
   
   All of these procedures are scripted for the clinician. It makes it much easier to implement. It also makes training and monitoring much simpler.
   
   Your training fee includes all of the equipment you will need to implement it.
   
3. Auditory Stimulation and Training (AST): Reading (20 week program) -
   Auditory Stimulation and Training (AST) is a combination of Samonas Sound Therapy and directed audio-vocal training lessons.
   
   Alfred Tomatis, M.D., the original pioneer and researcher in the field of sound therapy said that the voice cannot reproduce what the brain cannot hear. People who frequently mispronounce words, have low energy, get confused or misunderstand when listening, have difficulty sounding out words, or speak with poor inflection or a monotone voice typically have poor listening skills.
   
   AST-Reading is a 20 week program with 60 directed audio-vocal training lessons that specifically address the auditory skills needed for good listening and processing of auditory information.
   
   Critical underlying skills for reading, including working memory, phonemic awareness, decoding, visualized spelling, visual attention to detail, auditory-visual synchrony, and reading fluency are embedded into the lessons .
   
   An optional spelling component is also included for each AST-Reading lesson.
   
   In order to be a good speller, a person must be able to think about the number, order, and identity of sounds in words, as well as visually remember what words look like. The spelling component of AST-R utilizes a visual spelling strategy to help students think about what words look like, while reinforcing the phonetic content of the AST-R lessons.
   
   Sentence dictation allows students to apply spelling to writing and gain practice with language, grammar, punctuation, and capitalization skills. A specific proofreading strategy is applied to all sentence writing.
   
   The lessons are all scripted which makes implementing, training, and monitoring much simpler.
   
   Your training fee includes two microphones, a mixer, two headphones, and a complete library of Samonas CDs (16 disks).
   
4. Processing Skills Using Brainware Safari (BWS)
   BrainWare Safari is a neuroscience-based computer program that builds learning capacity and helps students become the best learners they can be.
   
   It has a fun and engaging video game format and builds processing skills in 41 specific areas . The general categories of processing covered are auditory processing, visual processing, attention, memory, sensory integration, and thinking skills. Processing speed and stamina are included throughout.
   
   Cognitive skills training, or processing skills development, is of huge benefit to students who struggle in school.
   
   The skills covered in Brainware Safari fall into the processing skills and executive function levels of the continuum. The fact that BWS is computer-based makes it economical for students who are able and willing to do most of the game-playing at home. However, we find that students are most successful if they have a minimum of one session in the clinic each week to work on BWS .
   
   Training on BWS includes tips on how to monitor what students are doing and coach them on difficult skills. While we love our one-to-one direct instruction processing skills programs and will be training on Brain Spark in our next seminar, BWS has provided flexibility and options for clients that we have not had in the past.
   
   Each seminar participant will receive a Brainware Safari Provider Kit ($500 retail value). This includes one student kit which you can resell, a coach account so you can monitor your students, and user accounts for all of your staff members. You will purchase additional student kits from us for $129. It is suggested that these be sold to clients for $349, but you may choose what you want to sell them for.

Additionally -

• Training - You are licensed to train your own staff in all of these programs. Please train them and use these programs. Sharing them with your staff is the only way to get maximum impact. Training checklists will be provided to make this very easy . (However, you may NOT train people who do not work DIRECTLY for you.)
• Location - If you move zip codes, take it all with you. If you open other facilities, use it all there, too.
• Other programs - This is not a franchise. You are welcome to use any other programs you want. Our training and support is about how these programs work and integrate with each other. However, we cannot answer questions about how to integrate these programs with other things you may be doing.
• Licensing Fees - Samonas and Brainware have their own associated costs. You do purchase them through us, but there is no licensing fee that we collect. AST and Core Learning have a licensing fee, and it is very simple. The total amount you pay us per student is $265. Whether you use one or both programs, there is only one fee. (As we add programs, our plan is to make the fee a one-time-per-student fee... not a per program fee.)
• Support - There will be a forum set aside on Learning100 just for support of people who have been through these programs. Additionally, we will hold weekly phone calls for you to ask questions and get answers.

"When Is It?"

The training will be Monday September 26 through Saturday October 1. Days run from 8:30 am to 5:15 pm. Saturday will go from 8:30 am until about 12:30pm. These are long days, and if needed, we will add evening sessions. We simply have SO MUCH content to share with you we had to structure it this way. Trust me, the time will fly by!

"Where Will The Training Be?"

We will hold the training at our offices in Chino , CA. The Ayres Suites Hotel is less than a mile from our new facility. It's an awesome facility that will pamper you at night and have you rested and ready to go the next morning.

If you've been to any of our trainings you know we pull out all the stops! You might want to bring two different size wardrobes...your regular clothes and some clothes that are two sizes bigger to wear toward the end of the seminar. (Just kidding...kind of). As you know there are always plenty of delicious food choices and snacks to keep your energy up!

• You may put down a deposit of $1500 with the balance due on or before the first day of the workshop. Instructions for this option will be sent to you once you are accepted.

• The second option is a $1500 deposit, then one half the balance will be paid on the first day of the workshop, and the other half to be paid on December 8, 2010 (a month after we are finished). There is a $150 administrative fee that will be added to the payment plan. (It's unheard of to accept payment after a training is delivered, but this is just too valuable for you to miss out on.)
